Application shutsdown when trying to connect

SmartFTP has caused an error in USER.EXE

This error appears when I try to connect to my site's FTP account.

System settings:
OS: Microsoft Windows ME
Processor: Intel Celeron ~768MHz
Memory: 190MB RAM
Free Disk Space: 22.63GB
Internet Connection: PPP Dial Up Server
Modem: Internal Lucent Win Modem
System type: X86-based PC
