xbox connection-help!

I have managed to connect and transfer succesfully using a laptop but for some reason my pc wont connect to my xbox or laptop. The laptop has no files i want or internet access therefore is useless to me, can someone give me some idea as to what may be wrong.Thanks

Make sure your computer's IP address is in the same 192.168.0.x range. If it looks 169.xxx.xxx.xxx then this is the problem, set it to 192.168.0.1 and try again.
