System Information is incomplete. You removed the OS version info. Post the complete information again.

But it seems you have Windows XP SP2 installed. The problem might be related to a firewall/antivirus software installed to your computer. Update them to the latest version. Then add SmartFTP to the allowed list of programs in the firewall settings. If this doesn't help try to temporary uninstall the firewall and av software.

I was having this problem as well. The confusing thing is that SmartFTP was working fine until I updated it (to purchase a license).

Windows Firewall works fine turned on with SmartFTP in the allow list. But it turns out AOL Security Center won't allow the connection, even with SmartFTP in the allow list.

However everything used to work fine before the download/upgrade, even when AOL was running (with SmartFTP in the allow list).

Anyone care to take a shot at that one??????

(Aside from "AOL just sucks, dude")
