Connection problems - SmartFTP Forums

When I try and connect to my websites using Smart FTP, I get the message:

Opening data connection to 64.202.189.115 Port: 57221
[11:31:16] A socket operation encountered a dead network.

Is this a problem with the Smart software or my hosting service?
