Trouble with Firewall?

Hey, guys. I started at UGA last semester, and since then, I've been forced to use a dial-up connection to access my FTP. (I can access other FTP's...just not the one I need to use to update my sites...)

I'm not sure what the problem is...and I've tried just about everything...so...here goes.

My log:

I can't access it via Dial-up anymore, now. So I need to find a way to make it work on the UGA connection. The tech people claim that FTP shouldn't be blocked.

You just seem to have a very unreliable Internet connection. We hardly can do anything about it.

BTW: SmartFTP 1.x is not longer supported, please upgrade to 2.x.

Sorry, I forgot that I hadn't upgraded.

I haven't had any problems with my connection other than this, and I can access plenty of other servers using SmartFTP.

Could there be any other cause for the problem? Or anything I can talk to the tech guys or my server manager about?

So that's it? I just have an unreliable connection, and there's nothing I can do about it?

Probably, yes. Or maybe it's the server that is on an unreliable Internet connection (as you can connect to other sites flawlessly), but I doubt that. You could also try to connect in active mode, but that is just a desperate try.
