Hey, I was just wondering if any of you guys could tell me if it is possible to host an ftp server from my computer to upload files for a website ect...

OS - Windows XP Professional

Sure it is possible to install an FTP server on your machine. But you will need some other software than SmartFTP, as SmartFTP is a client only. To host a web page on your machine, you'll need a web / HTTP server, however.

Windows XP Professional comes already with a FTP server together with the HTTP server (IIS).

That's true, although you have to install it manually afterwards, see e.g.:

However, I would recommend to use other more sophisticated (in terms of features) Windows FTP servers.
