Transfer stops

Hi.

I have been trying to send a file to my friend but it doesn't transfer completely.
She gets the following error:

"a connection was closed by the software on the host computer"

Would the host computer be me?
I am using Serv-u v. 5.2
Admin build 5.2.0.1
Server build 5.2.0.1

I only had Serv-u admin running, not serv-u daemon. Am I supposed to run daemon too?
What can I do to solve this problem?

Yes. The daemon is the FTP server. "Serv-u admin" is just a GUI to change settings for the daemon, the daemon itself runs without a GUI in the background so people can connect.
