504 Mode Z not enabled

Could someone please tell me what a Mode Z not enabled error is?
I cannot connect to a FTP as every time I try this message pops up and disconnects me.

Hi, go to Tools->Settings->Transfer->Compression and set all to auto if you have it on none or to none if you have it on auto or other.

Hi, Thanks a bunch for that help. I can connect to the ftp server now.
I put in a test file in their main folder and now it is denying me permission to delete it.
How can I delete something please?

For that you must ask the owner of the server to fix your permisions.
