Cannot Connect

After using SmartFTP for a year or so with no problems... I have tried to connect now for 2 days... this is what the window says:

SmartFTP v1.5.991.20
Resolving host name "trinitylifechurch.org"
Connecting to 140.186.45.2 Port: 21
No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.
Cannot login waiting to retry (30s)...
Active Help: https://www.smartftp.com/support/kb/58
Continue to login attempt 2...

etc.


I have read the active help page and uninstalled my Norton Anti-virus program and disabled my Zone Alarm.

I have gone into the control panel - administrative tools - services - and disabled the HTTP SSL service (I read somewhere that it might cause problems). Since I still cannot connect (same error message), maybe I should re-enable that service?

I have downloaded the latest beta build. I hope that doesn't mess anything up.

I don't know what else to do... please help.

BTW, I am very unknowledgeable about these type of things... please "spell it out" for me? (FTP Connection for Dummies)

If it's a server issue, how come everyone else isn't having problems connecting? I only see a couple of others complaining about this same issue. Also, if it's a server issue, when will it be resolved? Should I go to another FTP server?
