How to grant a user Logon as service user right

This describes on how to grant a user the Log on as a service user right. This user right allows a user to run a service in the background.
 
Important: A user which belongs to the Local Administrators group already has this user right. 
  1. Go to the Start menu
  2. Type secpol.msc
    and press Enter
  3. The Local Security Policy manager opens
  4. Go to Security Settings - Local Policies - User Rights Assignment node
  5. Double click Log on as a service on the right side
  6. Click Add User or Group...
  7. Select the user
  8. Click OK
