Explanation

OpenFTPD does not accept self signed client certificates. If you create a client certificate in SmartFTP, a self signed certificate is created. For more information on how to create a self signed client certificate please see the following Knowledge Base Article: TLS Error: Credentials.

Solution (Server Side Only)

You can edit the src/ftps/tlsutil.c file in the OpenFTPD source tree and change:

tls_no_verify = 0;

to:

tls_no_verify = 1;
