Unable to use "t" in file names

Posted by KMullaney on 04 May 2010 - 03:14 PM

I am unable to use the letter "t" in folder names. I receive the message: "A file cannot contain any of the following characters: " when trying to use the letter "t". See image for message I received when trying to type "realty".

Install the latest version and try again

I've been having this issue as well, with random characters. Right now, I'm having it with the letters s & w, although it seems that when I switch to another application and switch back to SmartFTP, the forbidden characters sometimes change to other ones, or just stop being forbidden altogether. I came looking for a bug report such as this one due to the letter "a" not being allowed (though "A" was just fine).

Restarting SmartFTP usually solves the problem, although sometimes - just like with switching to another program and back again - it just alters which characters are forbidden.

I'm using SmartFTP Home Edition v3.0.1027.10 on Windows 7 Home Premium. I would upgrade to SmartFTP v4, but my maintenance plan has expired.
