Windows 7 - File Tree jumps on double click

Posted by cpsubrian on 29 October 2009 - 07:23 PM

Since I upgraded to windows 7, in the local files pane, when I double click on a folder to expand it, the view jumps up such that the folder I just tried to expand is down, out of view. This also usually results in a random folder higher up being expanded, such as Program Files, or NVIDIA.

Post the system information from the menu: Help->About "System Information"

Updating status to: Working as Intended

It's the expected behavior (some call it bug) in Windows 7. See:

Hey,

After following the thread you linked (and many, many others) I've found a general solution to this "intended behavior". I've installed a program called "Classic Shell" that has completely fixed this issue in regular explorer windows. The fix does not seem to work in the SmartFTP explorer panel, however. I'm not sure which side of the equation the fix needs to come from, but it would be great to get their improvements integrated.

Let me know if I can provide any additional information.
