SmartFTP locking FTP folder and then deleted it after closing - WHY ???
I have been referred here after email support could not help me.
I believe there is a BUG in your system which is causing me some trouble.
I have set your application to monitor two sub folders of the same parent folder for two separate Scheduled jobs.
The one job sends FTP to company A and the second job sends to company B.
Job 1 moves the files and the folder is still accessible.
Job 2 moves the files but then locks the folder and once you close SMARTFTP it deletes the folder.
Job 1 and Job 2 have the exact same settings other than the source folder and destination folder.
I don't have SMARTFTP anywhere else so cannot reproduce it.
I expect Job 2 to behave the same as Job 1 and the folder will be accessible all the time to allow more files to be copied to folder 2 for processing.
Please do not delete this post again as I cannot put this in more simple terms.
Then please provide instructions on how to reproduce this on a fresh installation of SmartFTP with just one folder monitor.
Go to the Transfer Queue Item Properties of the scheduled task
Go to the Advanced dialog
Set the Keep folder option to Yes
I also suspected that might be the case and triple checked it. It IS set to keep the folder.

There is nothing in SmartFTP that deletes the folder if the Keep Folder option is enabled. Maybe the folder is deleted from an external process. And when the last process releases the file handle (e.g. when you close SmartFTP) to the folder the folder is actually deleted.
You can debug the problem with http://technet.micro...s/bb896645.aspx
It will show the process that deletes the folder.
You have to relaunch the app for the files to transfer - the other job / folder is still working perfectly.
Any further ideas guys ?
