I have uploaded several htm files to an Earthlink server with no problem. However, I can't upload a PDF file that is 85,000 bytes. I have space on the server for the file. I get a "connection failed. Server timeout" error message. Please help as I have spent all night trying to figure this one out. Thanks.

Are you out of space on the server you're trying to upload to? Many free web site hosts limit you, e.g. Tripod gives you 20mb. Is earthlink one of those?

I often try and upload stuff forgetting I'm maxed out and I get a similar error message.

This is exactly the problem I'm having. I check server space and I'm using 2 MEG of 50 MEG available. The available bandwidth usage is simular. The file I'm trying to put up is a 13 MEG zip file. It has uploaded up to about 73% and then SmartFTP says:

Opening BINARY mode data connection for pig-etc.zip
   Connection closed. Server timeout.
   Unknown error.
   Connection closed. Server timeout.

SmartFTP also refuses to resume, even though it says resume available.

I added the destination IP to ZoneAlarmPro and the upload completed. However, it was very slow with frequent stops during the transmission. Using dls line from home, no other connection traffic.
