I cannot connect to my website's FTP server. I tried reading the guide from SmartFTP but none of that worked and I'm a little stuck.

Add SmartFTP to the exceptions in your software firewall and antivirus product settings.

There currently are no anti-viruses installed and Windows Firewall is disabled, but has an exception for SmartFTP already.

Go to the command line (cmd.exe) and type:
ftp 66.7.220.43

If this works then there is something installed on your computer which blocks SmartFTP from making a connection to the server.

Mat

Nothing happened, it just broke to the next line, and the window added ftp 66.7.220.43 after the title.

After a few minutes of being able to untype it now let's me type ftp>

Above it says ftp: connect :Uknown error number

It seems there is a problem with your computer (virus infected?), router or network.

Well I reformatted not too long ago so it might be the router, but I am not too good with that either. It's a Netgear WPN824v2 if that helps at all.

I downloaded the latest firmware this afternoon as well and that didn't do much for me.
