How to move files from Box to Google Drive

Goal

The goal is to transfer all files and folders from Box (box.com) to Google Drive while retaining the meta properties (date modified, date created) of the files and folders.

Howto

Prerequisite

  1. Download and install SmartFTP
  2. Purchase a license for SmartFTP Enterprise Edition

Download files from box.com

  1. Connect to box.com
  2. Go to the Favorite Properties
  3. In the Favorite Properties dialog, go to the Transfer - Files dialog
  4. Under the Keep create time group, set the Download option to Enable
  5. Download all files from box.com to a temporary folder on your computer:
    Right-click the folder you want to download
    Select Download from the context menu

Upload files to Google Drive

  1. Create a New connection
  2. In the Protocol box, select Google Drive
  3. Click the Authorize button
  4. Complete the authorization
  5. While still in the New Connection dialog, click the Properties button
  6. In the Favorite Properties dialog, go to the Transfer - Files dialog
  7. Under the Keep create time group, set the Upload option to Enable
  8. Click OK to save the changes
  9. Click OK to connect to Google Drive
  10. Upload the files you have downloaded before.
