Windows Installer Service could not be accessed

Problem

When running the setup you get the following error message: "The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed"

Cause

The permissions of the folder the installer bootstrapper wants to extract the files to are not setup correctly.

Solution

Variant 1

Go to the installation setup folder:

C:\Program Files\SmartFTP Client 4.0 (x64) Setup Files
C:\Program Files\SmartFTP Client 4.0 Setup Files

and double click the SmartFTP.msi file.

Variant 2

Delete the folders with the setups:

C:\Program Files\SmartFTP Client 4.0 (x64) Setup Files
C:\Program Files\SmartFTP Client 4.0 Setup Files

Variant 3 (Windows Vista only)
