How To sync the Favorites with Dropbox

This article shows how to use Dropbox to synchronize the Favorites. Two methods are described: The 1st shows how to add an additional favorites folder which is synchronized with Dropbox. The 2nd method shows how to change the Personal Favorites Folder to the DropBox folder. It is assumed that you are already familiar with Dropbox.

Add Additional Favorites Folder

The personal favorites folder is left as is, but an additional favorites folder is added which is synchronized with Dropbox.

1. Create a new folder in your existing Dropbox folder. E.g. name it SmartFTP Favorites.
2. Start SmartFTP
3. Go to the menu: Tools - Settings
4. Go to the General - Favorites dialog
5. Click the Add Folder toolbar button
6. Type Dropbox into the Name input box.
7. Select the Favorites folder you have created in 1
8. Click OK

Move Personal Favorites Folder to Dropbox

1. Create a new folder in your existing Dropbox folder. E.g. name it SmartFTP Favorites
2. Start SmartFTP
3. Go to the menu: Tools - Settings
4. Go to the General - Favorites dialog
5. Change the Personal Favorites Folder to the folder you have created in 1
6. Click OK
7. Close SmartFTP
8. Copy the contents of the %AppData%\SmartFTP\Client 2.0\Favorites folder to the folder you have created in 1
9. Start SmartFTP
