Cannot use passive mode

I have been told that I shall use passive mode but i cannot. The passive mode-button is not active. What can I do?

How To switch between Active / Passive mode

1. Tools > Settings > Connection > Data Connection -> "Passive Mode / Active Mode".

2. Click the "PASV" button on the toolbar, when connected to a server. (session saved only)

3. Favorites > Edit Favorites > Properties > Connection > Data Connection -> "Mode".

4. Commands > Connection -> "Passive Mode". (session saved only)
