serv-u virtual dir mappings

Hi all,

I have spent sometime trying to fix this problem but to no avail, but I'll try to describe it as best I can.

I'm using 4.0.0.4 of serv-u and SmartFTP 1.0.973

In serv-u I have two virtual dir mappings....

1...
physical = d:blah
mapped to = c:test
virtual name = blah

2...
physical = 10.0.5.2blah2
mapped to = c:test
virtual name = blah2

The virtual mapping using the UNC path name (2) doesn't show in the dir listing, but the local mapping using drive letters does (1)

I have used many other clients and they all show the dir blah2 (2). Using the other clients I can enter the dir, download, etc, etc all as you'd expect. I have also tested this with the latest version of serv-u but the same problem appears as above.

So I think their could be a bug showing this UNC virtual path.

Ah - also forgot to mention that I can use the "change folder" command to enter the dir that doesn't appear in the list.

Great application, keep up the good work!

Garry.

try to disable "remove redundant links" (tools -> settings -> transfer -> dirlisting options)

maybe this helps

Thanks....

Nope that still doesn't show the dir.

Garry.

Post the raw directory listing:
right mouse click on folder -> show raw listing

and include the the important part from the log.

Thanks
-Mat

Ok...

Here is the raw dir listing, before chnging folder to blah2....

drw-rw-rw- 1 user group 0 Mar 4 10:34 .
drw-rw-rw- 1 user group 0 Mar 4 10:34 ..
dr--r--r-- 1 user group 0 Feb 28 16:11 Blah
-rw-rw-rw- 1 user group 0 Mar 4 10:26 New Text Document.txt
drw-rw-rw- 1 user group 0 Mar 4 10:31 Normal

I can "change folder" to blah2, it'll allow me and display it in the folder window, but when I do a raw listing and it doesn't show. Once I change folder I can do everything as normal.

"Blah" is also a virtual mapping, but to the local machine.

Here is the log of the change to blah2.....

200 Command okay.
CWD Blah2
250 Directory changed to /Blah2
PWD
257 "/Blah2" is current directory.
PASV
227 Entering Passive Mode (x,x,201,19,31,76)
Opening data connection IP: x.x.201.19 PORT: 8012.
LIST -aL
150 Opening ASCII mode data connection for /bin/ls.
59 bytes received successfully. (59 B/s) (00:00:01).
226 Transfer complete.

And changing to blah....

CWD /Blah
250 Directory changed to /Blah
PWD
257 "/Blah" is current directory.
PASV
227 Entering Passive Mode (x,x,201,19,31,73)
Opening data connection IP: x.x.201.19 PORT: 8009.
LIST -aL
150 Opening ASCII mode data connection for /bin/ls.
6133 bytes received successfully. (5.99 KB/s) (00:00:01).
226 Transfer complete.

If you need anymore let me know.

Garry.

We cannot do anything about it, if the directory doesn't show up in the raw directory listing.

Sorry.

Ah that's a shame.

So you use a 3rd party FTP engine? If so which one?

If I can "change folder" to a directory that is not showing, then their is a problem with the directory listing, whether its raw or not?

Hey guys,

Moving this post to "Users Helping Users" rather than a bug it not going to help it go away.

Hey, throw me a life line here. Just a tiny bit of help? Every other FTP client under the sun from Unix to Windows lists this directory. Would you fex it if I bought the software?

SmartFTP is great and I want to use it, make it better and fix this bug.

Any help appreciated, Thanks.
